RoofTile#B - Fish Figure
Roof Tile Figures were placed along ridges and roof edges as guardians and protectors of public buildings and private homes. The number of Ceramic Figures on a rooftop would indicate the importance of the building, with 9 figures denoting the housing for the Emperor or for the place of meetings with the hierarchy. The main purpose for the ornamental tiles was to produce an auspicious aura which creates a positive cosmic current that would generate favorable Feng Shui. Our Roof Tiles are in great condition and have a Wonderful Green Glazed Crackle Finish (see close-up). This Beautiful Green Glaze Ceramic Chinese Carp Fish measures approx.7 1/2" high by 6 1/2" long and approx. 3 1/4" wide.
